Sala Golf 2023 launches with a bang at Alcaidesa Links kick-starting another amazing competitive golf season!
With plenty of familiar faces and a number of new teams, the wind was blowing off the Med making for some difficult golf conditions on the day for the 2 Individual Leagues taking part.
In the 12.5 – Max Handicap Category, the runner up was Oliver East, having been cut heavily since our last competition, Oliver is obviously putting in some extra training and managed 36 points playing to his new handicap.
The Winner of the 12.5 – Max Handicap Category was Steve Richardson, Captain of Team Toys and long serving Sala Golfer, Steve scored an impressive 39 points.
In the Scratch – 12.4 Handicap Category, the runner up was Tom Edwardson JNR, with 35 points overall.
And the winner of the Scratch – 12.4 Category was Jason Hall with 36 points.
For the Team Competition, in 3rd place was Bon Vivant, with 84 points.
In 2nd place was Team Toys, also on 84 points with only 3 golfers, beating Bon Vivant on a countback.
The winning team at Alcaidesa was Three Guys and a Doll, with Barry Stonhill as Captain and an impressive 86 points overall.
All prizes on the day were provided by the proud sponsors, Vinomarket and International Marbella. Sala Golf also welcomed some new sponsors, PG Golf and Sports Academy and Fluent Finance Abroad.
All Sala Golf events raise awareness for The Elena Gaite Foundation in support of a number of local charities including Cudeca, The Red Cross and The Butterfly Foundation.
