Rugby great Andrew Mehrtens, former New Zealand international and second highest points scorer in All Blacks history, headlined a moving and memorable charity dinner at La Sala Puerto Banus, in support of Kenny Cole, who lives with the life limiting condition Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
The sold out event brought the community together for an unforgettable evening of food, drinks, entertainment, and heartfelt generosity, all to raise vital funds for a specialised electronic wheelchair that will greatly improve Kenny’s independence and quality of life.
Mehrtens captivated guests with stories from his legendary rugby career, delivering a perfect mix of humour, insight, and inspiration. His presence elevated the evening and sparked incredible generosity across the room.
Tony Capo delivered a fantastic live music set, while Steven Wally added a special creative touch by painting live throughout the night, adding colour and energy to an already electric atmosphere.
Kenny commented:
“I’m honestly overwhelmed by the support. It was such a special night, and to have someone like Andrew Mehrtens there sharing his stories was incredible. The La Sala team absolutely smashed it, from the venue, the atmosphere, everything was perfect. Thank you to everyone who came, donated, and made me feel so supported. It really means the world.”
Kenny also received all the prize money from the Sala Super League raffle, along with an additional €2,000 donated by Sala Group on behalf of the Chairman, Ian Radford.
To everyone who showed up, donated, performed, or contributed in any way, your kindness is helping change Kenny’s life in a truly meaningful way.
