A sunny May Sala Golf day at Atalaya and La Sala by the Sea!

A memorable sunny May Sala Golf day at Atalaya followed by La Sala by the Sea!

Last weekend witnessed an incredible 23 teams taking part in the latest Sala Golf day at Atalaya Old Course, where they were greeted by blue skies and scorching temperatures.

Chilled beers and refreshing Gin & Tonics were ready to quench the thirsts of the golfers on the 10th Tee, thanks to the team at International Marbella. As always, Tine and her team supplied not only refreshments but also delicious snacks as she tested the golfers cocktail knowledge with a fun quiz. The team, Marching On clearly know their alcohol better than the rest, as they claimed a prize of 4 fabulous Passion Fruit Daiquiris back at La Sala by the Sea.

After the event, at the prize giving the attendees enjoyed a Taste of Thailand back at La Sala by the Sea as they listened to the sounds of renowned local resident DJ Scott Strutton accompanied by live saxophone.

There were some promising individual scores on the day, with 6 players scoring 39 points. The winner on the day was Tony Gardner, scoring an impressive 40 points playing off a handicap of 14. Tony received a standing ovation from his team and everyone at La Sala by the Sea, winning wine courtesy of Vinomarket and gift vouchers from La Sala!

Coming from the other side of the coast, the Benelmadena Bandits came in 3rd place in our team prizes, captained by Niall Heneghan all the way to 90 points overall.

The runner up was Dustin My Johnson, scoring 93 points overall, led by Martin Jorgensen. Martin is also another one of our amazing sponsors, from ONE Residences.

The winning team on the day came in with a very impressive 94 points overall. Aaron Kavanagh may have had his handicap cut once again, bet he led his team The Pink Panthers to victory. The Pink Panthers were delighted to take even more stock from Vinomarket, and further adding to their collection of La Sala vouchers.

Everyone’s favourite prize of the day, the Wooden Spoon, was awarded to Magnus Reitan. Magnus, whose son is a pro playing on tour at the moment, not only took our Wooden Spoon trophy, but also out bid everyone for a signed Bob Wilson OBE Arsenal shirt for the Elena Gaite Foundation. Thank you to Magnus for your support!
