Sala Golfers make an impression at Mijas Golf Club this October
Last Saturday, members of Sala Golf were welcomed back to play at Mijas Golf Club’s renowned Los Lagos Course.
The 72 eager golfers were welcomed back by International Marbella with ice cold G&T’s as well as a quiz on The Football World Cup. Nobody was successful in nailing all the questions, so International Marbella awarded the Irish team, Prohibition, with a round of Whiskey Sours for getting the most wrong answers!
The individual Runner Up on the day was Claus Larner, with 40 points playing off a handicap of 18.
The Individual Winner was Mark Berry, with 41 points playing off a handicap of 19.
La Sala Group 1 came in 3rd place in our team prizes captained by Ian Radford with 86 points.
The runner up was Three Golfers and Grant, with 87 points overall, captained by Dean Bartlett.
The winning team on the day from the other side of the coast was the incredible Benalmadena Bandits with an impressive 89 points overall. Captained by Gary Lee on the day, with Team Captain Wayne Burton following on the course.
The Nearest to the Pin, on a Par 3 was set up on the 11th, with Mark Berry scooping the magnum of wine sponsored by International Marbella after hitting one close.
The Nearest Approach, on a Par 4 set up on the 3rd went to Steve Godfrey, who also claimed his magnum of wine.
The Longest Drive, was set up on the 15th hole, with Richard Bowman smashing one down the middle winning yet another International Marbella sponsored magnum of wine.
The dreaded Wooden Spoon, was awarded to Peter Smith, after scoring 19 points playing off a handicap of 18.
