La Sala Super League Hots Up for the Summer

Jul 5, 2014

Last month saw Sala Super League head to one of the most impressive courses on the Costa del Sol, Finca Cortesin, home of Volvo World Match Play.

The occasion in question was the fifth of ten events programmed in Sala Super League’s successful debut year. With a total of 88 players competing in teams, the competition is now heating up for the teams to be in the running for a host of attractive prizes.

Following the game, the players headed to the bijou beach club. Sala by The Sea, in Marbella for the presentation and prize giving, which was accompanied by a tempting array of complimentary drinks served along with mouth-watering Thai nibbles, and mini burgers.

Enjoyed at sundown the refreshments gave the players a taste of the new dining experience now on offer at the stunning Asian inspired beach club enjoying a privileged location close to Puerto Banús.

The day had been characterized by a competitive spirit among players, with five of the teams notching up close score cards, within a few points of each other. Among the prize-winners were mother and son, Pamela and Daniel Morgan, each winning the prize for longest drive in their respective female and male categories. Centurion Group took the team prize, while Mike Smith was triumphant in the individual competition.

The exclusive year-long tournament, organized by Sala Group has been kindly sponsored by Stein personal and Corporate planners, Ecoarinvest, Currencies Direct and Sportwagen Marbella. Not only a great sporting and networking competition for local businesses, the Sala Super League is also a vehicle to support worthwhile local charities including DEBRA.

This weekend on Saturday 12th July sees the sixth leg of the competition tee off at Aloha Golf in Marbella’s verdant golf valley. One of the most universally admired courses in the area, Aloha Golf is the chosen venue of the Andalusian Open Tournament, it is revered for its exuberant nature, a key feature of the design by maestro Javier Arana.

With twenty-seven teams already in the game, The Sala Super League is open to all, in teams of six. The winning team of the Sala Super League will walk away with the enviable prize of a 3-day golf holiday on the Algarve in Portugal.
