Another great day of competitive golf took place on Saturday 18th March for the Sala Golfers at the picturesque La Quinta Golf Course.
The Sala golfers were welcomed back by the Sala Golf Team with sandwiches as well as a selection of Sala Golf merchandise, before venturing off to their tees for a 9am shotgun start.
The proud sponsors were to support, with Vinomarket supplying a selection of the best wines for the Individual and Team prizes. International Marbella were back on the 10th Tee with their premium Gin & Tonic bar and homemade sausage rolls. PG Golf Academy supported with their fantastic set up for Beat the Pro and prizes.
Fluent Finance Abroad were also present as a Sala Golf sponsor, offering expert mortgage advice in support of our league.
After a splendid day on the course, the Sala Golfers made their way back to La Sala Puerto Banus for the prize giving, receiving a warm welcome as they enjoyed a selection of free flowing nibbles and drinks.
Charity lies at the heart of the Sala Golf competitions and as always the players raised a substantial amount of funds for the very special Elena Gaite Foundation, through the Charity Auction and Raffle. A huge thank you to all the Foundation team members as well as the golfers for showing their support for a great cause. This month, all proceeds have been donated to the Red Cross, to show appreciation for the fabulous auction and raffle prizes which they kindly donated.
The Closest to the Pin (Par 3) on hole 8 of the A Course was won by Ernesto Franco Macias, who took the prizes supplied by International Marbella and the PG Golf Academy.
The Closest to the Pin Approach (Par 4) on hole 1 of the C Course was won by Jonathan Hawtin, who also took home prizes supplied by International Marbella and the PG Golf Academy.
The Longest Drive for men on hole 5 of the C Course was won by Richard Zuhlke, who managed to smash his drive down the fairway to take home a magnum of wine supplied by International Marbella and prizes from the PG Golf Academy.
The Longest Drive for ladies, also on hole number 5 of the C Course, was won by Claudia Phillips, winning a magnum of wine supplied by International Marbella and prizes from the PG Golf Academy.
