Friday the 8th June saw an impressive turnout for a very special fundraising lunch event in the Live Lounge at La Sala Banus. The afternoon raised 3,500€ in support of local photographer, David Toms who was tragically paralysed following a motorbike accident back in July 2016.
All the proceeds from the day went towards purchasing a 24,000€ electric wheelchair for David, in order to drastically improve his quality of life.
Having worked closely with David Toms over the years, Sala Group Chairman Ian Radford kindly donated 30% of each ticket price to the worthy cause and further arranged for an array of football related signed memorabilia for auction.

Harry Winks signs Champions League shirt for highest bidder Dawn
Items included Dele Alli’s England shorts, Paul Robinson’s England goalkeeping gloves and the Champions League shirt worn by Tottenham Hostpur player, Harry Winks. The highest bidder Dawn, who purchased the Harry Winks shirt for 250€, was further treated to two VIP Platinum tickets, at the annual La Sala by the Sea White & Gold Party that evening, where Harry Winks personally signed the shirt and posed for photographs.
The event showcased a fabulous meal and stellar entertainment line-up, including a performance by Germany’s Got Talent finalist Albie Davies and sax supremo Leonardo. However, the most applauded was David himself, who managed to attend the event.
The afternoon finished with a lively fashion show from international designer Julie Miles, who travelled from the UK especially for the occasion.
David who has lived on the Coast for over 15 years, was known for his incredible event, wedding and food photography. He was left paralysed after a freak motorbike accident, which left him as a quadriplegic with major neurological damage.
Over his personal and professional career, David has given so much to the community. This event was a prime example and opportunity of the community giving something back.
