Aloha Golf Club event raises thousands in memory of heroic local firefighter
A recent golf event held at Aloha Golf Club in September has raised an incredible 10,820€ in memory of 44 year old local firefighter, Carlos Martinez Haro who tragically lost his life battling the blaze from the wild fires a few months back.
The Mixed Scramble event took place on the 18th September with over a hundred golfers involved and was organised by Aloha Golf Club in collaboration with La Sala Puerto Banus and the Elena Gaite Foundation.
The charity auction featured masterpieces from talented local artists, Elisa Cook and Josephine Coupe (Craig’s Rainbow) who donated some wonderful paintings. Further featured items included a signed shoe from Sergio Garcia, signed shirts from various footballers as well as a number of local golf clubs who kindly donated green fees.
All proceeds from the charity auction were donated to his daughters, Maria and Carla who are 7 and 9 years old. This is considered a small token of appreciation for their father’s bravery in battling the fire in order to protect others.
